GT40P/2140 back in action
In conjunction with the SRO and Avon Tyres, Nigel Hulme has been using GT40P/2140 for VIP passenger rides at all the rounds of the British GT championship. They have attended two rounds so far, these being Oulton Park on 22/24 March, and Knockhill on 12/13 April. The pictures shown here are from Knockhill. The car is being driven by Guy Harrington of team Modena Lamborghini. The first time he exited the car he said " I feel just like Steve McQueen!"
The smiling passenger is Jean Leslie, widow of the much respected racing driver David Leslie. Motorsport is a small world: Jean’s uncle was involved in the design of the GT40!
For the Rockingham round they plan to do a piece with the TV crew who are covering the BGT rounds for UK's Channel 4, and at some point in the session the car should have one of the Spice Girls as a passenger...
