The GT40 is notoriously difficult to capture in a painting or drawing.  Its lines are so subtle they seem to elude all but the best artists.  Well, the moment I saw this delightful poster, I knew that here at last was a painting which captured exactly those gorgeous lines of the Gulf GT40 which dominates the scene.  I think it’s absolutely superb!

This poster charts the evolution of the GT40, from a 1964 prototype up to the 1969 Le Mans-winning Gulf car, by way of Mirage, Mark II and Mark IV.  It also contains a superb image of Messrs Wyer and Ickx, two of the great men whose names will forever be linked with this wonderful car, and it proves that artist Cliff Ruddell is equally at home drawing people as drawing cars.

Not only is this an excellent representation of our favourite car, it’s also a high-quality offering.  It’s printed on 240gsm Kristal Pure White uncoated art paper, which has a texture such that you think you’re looking at and handling an original, not a print.  Not surprisingly, it’s a limited edition, just 650 copies having been printed.

If you would like one of these beautiful pictures, at the very reasonable price of £75 including shipping (in a sturdy card tube), just click on the button below to go through to Cliff’s website and make your purchase.
